DR. BEVERLY A. ROBERTS
Dr. Beverly A. Roberts of Hephzibah, Georgia, USA, was
elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International
Association of Lions Clubs at the association's 88th International
Convention, held in Hong Kong, June 27 - July 1, 2005. Past Director
Roberts is a retired dean of Augusta Technical College.
The Charter President of the Hephzibah Lions Club in 1990, Past Director
Roberts has held many offices within the association, including club
treasurer and secretary, region chair, vice district governor, district
governor and council chair. She was also the Multiple District 18
Leadership Chair for eight years. Additionally, she has served on the
Forum Planning Committee and presented at eight USA/Canada Forums, 22
regional institutes and was a group leader at the District
Governor-elect School three times. She has also served as a director of
the Georgia Lions Lighthouse and the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind.
In recognition of her service to the association, she has received
numerous awards, including the 21 Year Perfect Attendance Award, 15
Member key Award, 100% Club Secretary award, 100% Club President award,
the club Lion of the Year Award, the District Governor Medal of
Appreciation, the District Governor Excellence Award, three Georgia
Lions Lighthouse Leadership Awards, six International Presidential
Medals and five International President's Certificates of Appreciation.
Past Director Roberts is a life member of the North Carolina Foundation
and the Florida Lions Foundation for the Blind. She is a member of the
18-F Hall of Fame. She is a recipient of the Multiple District 18 Terry
Calhoun Award. She has also received the Ambassador of Good Will award,
the highest honor the association grants its members, and is a
Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to her Lions activities, Past Director Roberts is active in
numerous professional and community organizations. She is registrar of
the Augusta Chapter of DAR, Past President of the Georgia Retired
Educators and a member of Delta Pi Epsilon, Kappa, Delta PI, and Phi
Kappa Phi honorary societies. She was previously president of the
Richmond County Retired Educators and the South Augusta Exchange Club,
Grand Marshal of the Order of Eastern Star and twice the state
chairperson of the Georgia Retired Educators State Convention.
Past Director Roberts enjoys computers, arts and crafts, teaching and
genealogy. |
