                           DR. BEVERLY A. ROBERTS

 

 

Dr. Beverly A. Roberts of Hephzibah, Georgia, USA, was elected to serve a two- term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association's 88th. International Convention, held in Hong Kong, June 27 ~ July1, 2005.

Director Roberts is a retired dean of a Technical College.

A member of the Hephzibah Lions Club since 1990, Director Roberts has held many offices within the association, including club treasurer and secretary, region chair, zone chair, vice district governor, district governor and council chair. She was also the Multiple District 18 Leadership Chair for eight years.  Additionally, she has served on the Forum Planning Committee and presented at Four USA/ Canada Forums, twelve regional institutes and was a group leader at the District Governor- elect School three times. She also served as the director of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse and the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind.

In recognition of her service to the association she has recieved numerous awards, including the 15 Year Perfect Attendance Award, 15 Member Key Award, 100% Club Secretary Award, 100% Club President Award, the club Lion of the Year Award, the District Governor Medal of Appreciation, the District Governor Excellence Award, three Georgia Lions Lighthouse leadership Awards, four International Presidential Medals and four International President's Certificates of Appreciation. Director Roberts is a life member of the North Carolina Foundation and is a member of the 18-F Hall of Fame and multiple District 18 Ten Million Dollar Club. She had also received the Multiple District 18 Terry Calhoun Award and Ambassador of Goodwill Award, the highest honor the association grants its members. Director Roberts is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to her Lions activities, Director Roberts is active in numerous professional and community organizations. She is registrar of the Augusta Chapter of DAR, area director of the Georgia Retired Educators, membership chairperson of the Richmond County Retired Educators and a member of Delta Phi Epsilon, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi. She was previously president of the Richmond County Retired Educators and the South Augusta Exchange Club, grand marshal of the Order of Eastern Star and state chairperson of the Georgia Retired Educators State Convention.
